Vesicular Stomatitis
  Two Horses Confirmed Infected with Vesicular Stomatitis (VS) in New Mexico (NM), United States — Import Restrictions Updated  Ottawa, ON—Two horses in the state of New Mexico, Otero County, were confirmed with Vesicular Stomatitis (VS) on April 20, 2012.  This is the first detection of active VS in the United States since 2010.  The World Organization for Animal Health has posted a notification on its web site at: http://bit.ly/IJcDah.  Canada is currently free of vesicular stomatitis. Canadians Finish in the Top 10 at The Fork International Horse Trials  Ottawa, ON—Canadian National Eventing Team members Rebecca Howard, Hawley Bennett-Awad Jessica Phoenix and Diana Burnett  all finished in the top 10 in the CIC 3* division at The Fork International Horse Trials, held April 6–8 in Norwood, NC, USA.  Rebecca Howard of Salmon Arm, BC, and her 2010 World Equestrian Games partner Riddle Master, Blithe Hill Farm’s 11-year-old Canadian Sport Horse gelding, took second place in the hotly contested division which featured 60 of the top North American horse/rider... more
